Negotiation of terms and conditions is a generally underrated element of the investment selection process In many cases, funds take surprisingly little interest in this aspect, despite the huge potential impact of restrictive or misunderstood terms and conditions or the a of cursory approach to due diligence. Negotiation of fees is better understood but, because of the relative short history of this area, clients are often not aware that much better deals are available.
PiRho regards the negotiation phase as an important feature of Manager Selection in its own right, and works with managers to ensure that clients achieve the best available deal and also understand the effect of any ‘trade offs’ they decide to make.
